Branding Yourself for Success

Join us for our 2016 student outreach event. This event is geared to help students as they transition from school to the work force by providing them with real world information about how to brand and market themselves as they join the accounting and financial profession.

Don’t miss our panel of marketing and branding experts that will help you brand and market yourself so that you stand out! Whether it’s on Social Media sites or in an interview. Our experts will teach you how to find the right job, how to stand out on LinkedIn (and other social media sites), and what it takes to get the job you want. You won’t want to miss this very informative event even if you’re currently not looking for a new career or changing careers.  Marketing and Branding Yourself could help get you that raise, promotion, or both!

Katy Goshtasbi, JD KATY GOSHTASBI, JD – Katy is the founder and CEO of Puris Personal Brand Solutions, where she collaborates with clients (corporate clients and small business owners) to develop their individual brands: uncover and develop their hidden talents and abilities in order to have them emotionally resonate with their target markets and audiences. Find out what Katy is doing next.

75% of the reason why people hire us is because of how they feel about us, not how smart we are.  Come learn why emotionally resonating with your audience is the only brand you need to genuinely sell yourself and find your happiness in life.

Bridget Ayers Bridget Ayers – is the “agent 99” behind Get Smart Web Consulting. When she decided to start her marketing firm, after being in the resort and tourism industry for 7 years and the finance world for 6 years, she thought first about what she had to offer and next about how she would share that with the business world. The answer for their company was simple – Get Smart…first they do and then their clients do.

“POWER OF TECH-KNOWLEDGE-Y”

The world of business continues to change, and so do the technologies driving it forward. While you don’t have to be a “geek,” as a professional in business or as an owner, you do need to understand the latest technologies and how to best use them in any business so that you don’t get left behind by competitors, not to mention younger generation employees.  Leslie will walk us through everything from online apps that can enhance your business, to social media strategies, to transitioning to the latest business technologies in this hands-on session.

Guest Speaker

Leslie Fishlock Founder & CEO of Geek Girl

Leslie Fishlock is best known as the Founder & CEO of Geek Girl, everyone’s favorite resource for empowering women in tech, supporting start ups and making technology easy to understand and use for everyone from 8-88. Geek Girl accomplishes this through its highly touted, localized Geek Girl Tech Conferences around the country, workshops, seminars, consulting, Help Desks, and Geek Girl for Hire.

Leslie’s vision for education, evangelism, entrepreneurialism, and empowering women is apparent when you meet her. Leslie prides herself on being “the resource”, and will share everything she knows about entrepreneurialism, startups, growing your business and tech trends with anyone who asks. She is overly, nay, abundantly passionate about Geek Girl and spends every minute of the day trying to come up with new ideas for the female-powered organization to serve everyone; female and male.

Leslie now calls San Diego her home, along with said geeky boyfriend and their three devoted but highly manipulative Australian Shepherds Nano, Duke and Pepper. When they aren’t working on their own startups, you can find them supporting, mentoring and investing in other startups around the country, taking long walks on San Diego beaches with their dogs, practicing their 2A and eating fish tacos.
