Join us for Brothels, Bites & Booze walking tour with SoDiego Tours and explore the Gaslamp Quarter, the heart of America’s finest city. Learn the secrets behind the district’s historic buildings as you travel back in time to the infamous red light district know as the Stingaree. You’ll enjoy enough delicious food for a full meal.
Our guide will provide an in-depth look at the infamous red light district of San Diego and the women who ruled the streets. See what drew them to this lifestyle and the price they paid to be amongst the few financially independent women of the time. Scandalous tales of the most popular brothels and Prohibition-era gangsters will have you thirsty for more!

The original Ciro’s opened in Jan. of 2003 and uses nothing but the freshest ingredients. The Gaslamp Quarter is home to an endless amount of unique craft cocktail bars and some of the top microbreweries in the country. finish off your Gaslamp Quarter food tour with a sample-sized brew, cocktail, or other intoxicating treat for the full San Diego Experience.
The tour departs from a convenient location in San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter. Will be close to the Hard Rock Cafe.
Tour covers approximately 1.5 miles over 2.5 hour period. The tour is conducted at a relaxed pace and stops frequently. You will have the opportunity to sit down at most of the restaurants we visit. We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes.
Bring a valid ID if you wish to participate in any alcoholic tastings.

$1.00 per hour or part thereof: 3 AM – 6 PM
$5.00 flat: 6 PM – 3 AM Sunday – Thursday
Tour will depart at 6:00 PM so plan on getting downtown by 5:30 to park and register.

The walking tour of San Diego is something new for AFWA that we’re hoping everyone will enjoy and is a change for our normal social/networking events. We’ll learning more about women’s part in the history of San Diego, get to know the Gaslamp District better (not just for tourist!) and enjoy a night out with your fellow AFWA members, students and guests.
