Excel – Tips, Tricks and Traps

September 22, 2016 @ 10:30 am - 1:00 pm

$30.00
Dan Goldzband will be showing you some of his Tips, Tricks and Traps from his UCSD Course that he will be teaching in October – November.  You won’t want to miss this opportunity to gain more in depth knowledge on Excel.

Microsoft Excel makes it easy for anyone to do number crunching once reserved for accountants and statisticians. But the world’s best-selling spreadsheet software has also contributed to the proliferation of bad math. Close to 90% of spreadsheet documents contain errors, a recent report found and suggests “Spreadsheets, even after careful development, contain errors in 1% or more of all formula cells.”

This presentation will highlight some of the exercises in Dan’s Financial Analysis Practicum course, to be offered in October-November at UCSD. It draws heavily from his manufacturing work, and will demonstrate advanced Excel functions and techniques for manipulating large amounts of data. Excel files containing more than 100,000 rows of data will be used to produce inventory and production analyses for monthly closes, operational reviews and production progress reporting. This is an opportunity for audience members to pose their own pesky challenges to see how Dan would sketch an approach to solving them.

Fasten your seat belts, it’s going to be quite a ride!.
